Funeral services for Elizabeth C. Walker, 85, of Temple will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton with Chaplain Bruce Mercer officiating. Burial will follow at McDowell Cemetery in Belton.

She passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018 at a local care facility.

Elizabeth was born February 19, 1933 in Ripley, Tennessee to Sable and Hattie (Lovelace) Smith. She attended school and was raised in Tennessee. Elizabeth married Joy Scallions in 1950 in Mississippi. She was a Baptist and attended Lakeview Baptist Church.

Elizabeth was a hard worker and business owner. She worked in real estate for most of her life as a property owner and landlord, she also owned a few retail stores and even a beauty shop. She loved working and was proud of her successful career.

Elizabeth loved to spend time with her family and friends and if there was music playing she was dancing. She enjoyed anything from ballroom dancing to country and western and square dancing. She also enjoyed riding horses and sewing. Elizabeth was a loving mother, beloved grandmother and treasured sister and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sable and Hattie Smith; the father of her children, J.W. Scallions; and her siblings, Noni Miriam Brown, Ovilur Mae Gean, Marie Ballard, Joyce Young, Virgil Smith and Lawrence Smith.

She is survived by her children, Kenneth Scallions, Anthony Scallions and wife Debra Lea, Jerome Scallions and wife Sandy, Rebecca Ann Mitchell and husband Randy "Doc", and Brenda Joy Norman and husband Steve; and her sister, Jean Blair. She is also survived by her beloved 10 grandchildren, Carolyn True, William Mitchell, Timothy Truelove, Carrie Shaw, Kati Scallions, Jacob Scallions, Cody Scallions, Colby Scallions, Jason Linder and Christopher Linder; 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the nurses and staff of Luvida Memory Care and Kindred Hospice for the loving and compassionate care given to their family and especially their mother during her illness.

The family will receive visitors from 6-8 pm on Friday, September 28, 2018 at the funeral home.
