Celebration of Life

Sister Deloris Jenkins Miller entered peacefully into eternal rest when God in His infinite wisdom welcomed her home on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 11:49am.

On January 30, 1933 a precious baby girl was born to the late Janie and Willie Jenkins of Pensacola, Florida. Deloris attended public schools in Escambia County. She was preceded in death by all of her siblings, five sisters; Rebecca Jenkins, Willie Shine, Ruth Caldwell, Margaret Morrell and Janie Caldwell, four brothers; Leroy, Calvin, Timothy and Richard Jenkins and one Great-Great Grandchild, Zayla Jamece Cir'e Neclos.

Deloris was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Clarence Miller Sr. of Pensacola, Florida. It was there that they lived and raised their family.
She lived a full and gratifying life, lovingly known in the community as the neighborhood mom, she could always be found cooking and helping others.

Her spiritual life began at an early age. She loved the Lord and loved serving Him. She joined Greater Morning Star Baptist Church where she served diligently as an usher and sang in the choir. Deloris was also an Advisor to KT & The Gospel Revelators.

Sister Deloris Jenkins Miller leaves to cherish everlasting thoughts and memories to her loving and devoted children; Ronald (Tammie) Miller Sr., Clarence (Alcer) Miller Jr., Dontheria and the late Ronald Moorer, Terrance and the late Felisha Miller, Latonya Miller, Signoria Jones, Janice and the late Willie Snowden, Robert (Judy) Miller, twenty-five Grandchildren, fifty-four Great Grandchildren and four Great-Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A Note to My Granny

And to think I wasn’t even born into your family granny. Nobody could tell outside of our family though. You loved me regardless, from the moment we met. You loved me hard, as if I were your own, because I was. You were the example for all of us, as to how we should love one another and care for one another and how we should look out for one another. You are and will forever be the matriarch along side granddad. I miss you so much granny. Rest in paradise.

Love,
Sherome

“Whatever it is, Put it in God’s Hands” ~Deloris Miller

Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

Special Person

The one that keeps me up
The one that takes no stuff
My love my heart
The one who brightens the dark!
She keeps a smile on my face,
So I keep my love at one pace.
Her personality took me in,
My grandmother and also my friend.

She stepped up in my life,
And took me without a fight.
Her loveable soul,
And a heart with no holes!
To me she has been a mother,
Also to my sister and brother.
That’s why I love her today
And she keeps a smile on my face!

Love,
LaTonya

There’s an open gate at the end of the road
Through which each must go alone
And there, in the light we cannot see,
Our Father claims his own.
Beyond the gate our loved one
Finds happiness and rest.
And there is comfort in the thought,
That a loving God knows best.
