He passed away on Friday, May 25, 2018 in Temple.

He was born January 25, 1988 in Bay City, Michigan to Gary and Lisa Marie (Boyce) Gallup. He was homeschooled and graduated from Bob Jones Academy in 2006. He later attended Temple College. Christopher joined the US Air Force in October 2006 and served until September 2012. During this time he served tours of duty in Afghanistan and Korea. He was a US Army National Guardsman from 2012 to present, with a rank of Sergeant. He was a police officer with the US Veterans Affairs Police department from March 24, 2013 through January 10, 2015. He served with the Temple Police Department from January 2015 until his passing. Christopher was a member of CLEAT, a police organization. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Temple.

Christopher was a loving husband, devoted father, beloved son and brother and trusted friend to everyone he met. He had a servant’s heart and was a hero to his family and the many people he helped during his career as a police officer. As a young boy he enjoyed hunting and church and 4-H activities. While in 4-H he raised and showed cattle and even participated in a Diaper Derby contest where he was named Champion. Above all he loved to spend time with his family and friends. He loved his children and was always there to support them in all that they did. He will forever be their #1 Fan. Christopher will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Claude E. and Constance E. Schneider.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Michaellyn Gallup; 2 sons, Christopher “Junior” Gallup and Robert Gallup; 3 daughters, Victoria Guzman, Serenity Guzman and Isla Mariana Gallup; his parents, Gary and Lisa Gallup; a sister, Heather Gallup; grandparents, Nancy & Donald LaForge and John Boyce; mother-in-law, Leticia Palacios; father-in-law, Michael Cabrera; brother-in-law Michael Jordan Cabrera; aunts, Kathryn Boyce and Ann Mulligan; Erica Alonso; uncles Terry Gallup, Lawrence Smith and wife Samantha, and Donald Gallup and wife Blenda. Gary, Lisa, Heather, Michaellyn and children, our hearts and prayers are with you all. Christopher was always a very polite, and quiet young man, but we could see he loved his family dearly. His children made his eyes light up. He will be missed by so many. May the Lord hold you tight in His arms, and give you the comfort and peace you seek, during these days of grief. We love you all ❤️

To Chris' family and friends: I am deeply saddened to have learned of the passing of Chris Gallup. I served with him in the Army National Guard. I had some great experiences and memories with him and definitely admired his professionalism and commitment to public service through the military and his work with Temple PD. To his parents: I hope you know how respected Gallup was by others in the service. I assure you that for those who got to know him, he was easy to be friends with, a pleasure to work with, and will sincerely be missed.

To the family of Officer Christopher Gallup, I hope that the love and support from your family and friends, including me, gets you through this time.
I am blessed to have met such a gentle soul, such a sweet spirit. I remember teaching Officer Gallup as a cadet and later him coming to my office asking more questions than I even had answers. I will always remember his quite strength and how we talked how my son and he were alike, both served, both cared deeply. I can only think the pain we all feel now is because of the joy he left each of us while being with us in this life. You are in my prayers.
