Funeral Services for John Guillen, 89, of Temple, will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Temple. He will be laid to rest at Bellwood Memorial Park Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM Monday, May 13, 2019 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with a rosary cited at 6 PM.

Mr. Guillen passed from this life on May 5, 2019. John Guillen was born November 3, 1929, to Felipe and Amalia Martinez Guillen in Corsicana, Texas.

John owned Johnnie’s Office Systems for 61 years. He loved spending time with his family especially for Sunday dinners and having his favorite dessert ice cream, he was an avid golfer and was a member of The Pan American Golf Association, served in the army, he was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a member of Knights of Columbus. He supported Temple youth sports and Temple High School and Temple College sports. He loved helping and serving others, truly having a servant’s heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers; 2 sisters; son, Anthony John Guillen; and son-in-law, Danny Holst.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are, his wife, Linda Guillen; sons, Adam Guillen and wife Ruby and Patrick Guillen and partner Rick; daughter, Carrie Holst; brother, Fred Guillen; 3 grandchildren, Anthony Guillen, Michael Guillen, and Daniella Holst; caregiver of 9 years, Barbara Bratcher; also left to cherish his memories are many nieces, nephews, as well as many other beloved family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Temple College Leopard Pantry which can be found at or St. Mary’s Catholic School or St. Mary Catholic Church Building Fund 1019 South 7th Street Temple, Texas 76504.
