Lucille Nora Brown  I am a Veteran.
July 7, 1920 - March 6, 2010

Lucille Nora Brown, 89 of Temple, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010 in a local nursing facility. Visitation will be 6-8pm Monday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. Private burial will be in Central Texas Veteran’s Cemetery in Killeen.

Lucille Brown was born July 7, 1920 to Albert and Irene (Tremblay) Godin in Haverhill, Massachusetts. She graduated from Salem, Massachusetts High School in 1938. Lucille Brown received her nurse’s training at Holy Ghost Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. On June 10, 1944, she was married to Walter Marion Brown, Jr. in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Mrs. Brown served our country in the United States Army/United States Women Army Corp (WAC) in WWII as a surgical technician. She also worked at the old King’s Daughters Hospital, and Scott and White Hospital and Women’s Clinics. In 1985, she retired after working as an LVN for 27 years. Mrs. Brown was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Temple.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers.

Survivors include her husband, Walter Marion Brown, Jr. of Temple, her son, Paul Brown of Temple, sisters; Elizabeth Chase of Oak Brook, Illinois, Jean Hughs of Middleton, Massachusetts, Ruthie Forget of Pompano Beach, Florida, and Cynthia Bouchard of Middleton, Massachusetts, grandson, Alan and wife Elizabeth, and great grandson, Griffin of Manor, Texas.
