Alfredo T. Ballesteros, 60 of Wildomar, Ca and formerly of Temple, Tx, passed away suddenly on August 22, 2018 in a California hospital. He was born February 14, 1958 to Tomas Ballesteros, Sr and Maria Trevino Ballesteros.

He graduated from Temple High School in 1976, attended the University of Texas at Arlington and McLennan Community College and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in 2004.

He married Jessica Townsend in November 2000 and they had a son, Zachary in March 2007.

For over 17yrs he offered his expertise as a financial counselor, most recently working for Lifemark Securities Corp. He was also an accomplished musician who was a member of the Temple High School Marching Band that played every Thanksgiving at Texas Stadium, watching his Cowboys play, and the THS Highlighters. After graduating THS, he performed locally with Pegasus, Hip Pocket and One Step Higher. He eventually moved to California and became a member of the Boxing Gandhis, Little Chris & the Nightcrawlers aka Chris Fast & Friends and had musical credits on albums with 58 and shared a 2017 Grammy nomination with Janiva Magness for his work on the album “Love Wins Again”. He played with the likes of B.B. King, Meredith Brooks and the Dave Matthews Band, just to name a few and was mentioned in several music industry album reviews for his musical contributions on various projects, had a few “blink and you’ll miss him” as an extra in a few films as well as background music credits with the Gandhis on several Hollywood and made for tv movies.

He is survived by his wife, Jessica and son Zachary, his father, Tomas Sr, five sisters, Amelia B Loa, Rosa Castillo, Sara Guerra & Betty (Connie) Polendo, all of Temple, and Evangelina Coronado of Waco. Three brothers, Jose Ballesteros of Colorado, Jesus Ballesteros of Lubbock and Tomas Ballesteros, Jr of Temple. He had a passion for life, family & music. Nicknamed Fredo or Frey, his opinions and points of views were affectionately referred to as “Freyology”. He will live forever in our hearts and be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend and, for the music that he loved to share.

Visitation will be held, Monday September 10 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home from 6pm-8pm with a Rosary at 7pm.

Funeral mass will be held Tuesday September 11, at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Church in Temple at 10:00am. Burial to follow at Bellwood.
